Questions?

If your question is not found here, please contact us.

1. How do I read a copy of a Play?

All our plays are available in Adobe PDF format, so you can download and read instantly.

Beside every play on a link titled "Download The Play" - just click that link to read it.

2. When do I need to purchase Performance Rights?

If the play is being performed in front of an audience, you must purchase rights to do so.

If you are performing inside a class with only the students normally enrolled in that class present OR the piece is being judged as part of a closed examination process, you do not need to purchase performance rights.

We have endeavoured to make this process as simple for you as possible. There's no cumbersome paperwork, waiting for rights assessment, or email invoicing - you can buy your performance rights immediately online, like any other purchase. Confirmation of your rights will be emailed to you along with any relevant download links.

Plus, we don't charge anything to download or print the play and distribute it amongst your actors - that's free.

3. What payment forms to you accept?

We use PayPal to process transactions. PayPal accepts credits cards, as well as payments via your PayPal account. Just click on the "add to cart" button, then "proceed to checkout" to process your payment. You will have an option to pay via credit card (left side), or log into your PayPal account (right side).

4. How to I purchase Performance Rights?

Beside every play on the homepage is a link titled "Buy Performance Rights" - just click that link, complete the form provided and click "add to cart"

5. Can I submit my play to your website?

We are always interested in learning about new and/or unknown one-act plays. If you have a one-act play that you would like to licence online, contact us and we'll let you know if it's good fit. Just let us know:

- brief synopsis
- when it was written?
- is it currently being licenced anywhere else?
- has it been performed before?

5. Can I make changes to the Play?

Deleting the odd word here and there is perfectly reasonable, and minor cuts if you wish to shorten the length. However, you may not make significant cuts, rewrite or shift around dialogue, etc without prior permission from the playwright. If you would like to make a change to the script, please contact us and we will be very happy to work with you.

6. Some of your plays have music attached to them - do I have to use the music?

Usually if you are using recorded music in your production, you will need to obtain the rights permissions for that as well, which can be very expensive.  In this case, the music and recordings are provided free as part of your performance rights.

You do not have to use this music in your play, and may choose any music you wish - after all, it's your production! Just make sure that you have permission to do so. (For Australasian commercial music rights, you can contact APRA.)
